The protocol

How to engage this practice.

This page exists because the wrong engagement costs both of us the same time as the right one. What follows is the format. Read it as friction and you are not the operator I do my best work with. Read it as relief and we will probably get on.

The brief

Six fields. Send them in any email.

If a field is missing, you will get a polite note asking you to fill the gaps and resend. Not a trick: the same rigour I will apply to your work.

  1. What you do, in one sentence. No taglines.
  2. Revenue band. $500k to $1M, $1M to $5M, $5M to $10M, or above $10M.
  3. The bottleneck you are hitting, in two sentences.
  4. What you have already tried to fix it.
  5. Timeline in weeks. Not 'ASAP'.
  6. Budget band, or 'discovery first' if you genuinely do not know yet.

The filter

What earns a yes.

You are the decision-maker.

The person whose name is on the outcome is the person in the conversation. No procurement gauntlets, no committee approval, no champion-sponsor handoffs.

You have tried to scope the problem yourself.

Even a wrong answer is useful. It tells me how you think, and where the real friction sits. Vague enquiries get vague replies.

You are between $500k and $10M revenue.

Below that, the diagnostic is probably enough on its own. Above that, you likely need someone with a team behind them. I run a single-operator practice on purpose.

You want the thinking and the building from one person.

If you already have a strategist and just need an executor, I am not the cheapest option. If you want the strategy and the build held together, I am the most direct one.

You read this page in full before sending.

It is the simplest filter I have. The operators I do my best work with treat their own attention the same way.

The boundaries

What ends the conversation.

Patterns that end it immediately. Not personal. Just incompatible with the way the practice runs.

  • Vendor-replacement work where the existing vendor has not been told first. I will not be the leverage in that conversation.
  • Equity-only, revenue-share-only, or 'let us see how it goes' arrangements without a paid scope. The work is too considered for that economics.
  • Coffee chats, 'quick calls', or 'pick your brain' sessions before a written brief exists. The brief comes first. The call comes second.
  • Build requests where the operator has not attempted to scope the problem at all. Half-formed problems become half-built systems.
  • Engagements where the operator is not the decision-maker. I work with the person whose name is on the outcome, not their delegate.
  • Availability outside AEST business hours. No early-morning calls, no late-night messages, no weekend turnaround.
  • Surveillance, dark-pattern, or extractive systems. Optimising for user addiction or engagement-at-cost is a hard no.
  • Cosmetic rebrands and surface fixes on businesses where the real constraint is the operator avoiding a harder decision.
  • Build engagements priced below the published floor, unless there is a research bet I want to make. That call is mine, not a discount you can negotiate.

The floor

The floor, in writing.

Build projects start at $17,000 USD, scoped per project. That number is the refusal in writing. Below it, the free diagnostic or the AI ROI calculator is the honest first step, not a scoped build.

For a select few: The Only One Day Review, a dawn-to-night on-site read of your whole operating system that ends in one 90-day directive. From $8,900 USD, by application.

Common questions

Questions, answered.

How do I start working with LionsEdge?

Send one email with six fields: what you do in a sentence, your revenue band, the bottleneck in two sentences, what you have already tried, your timeline in weeks, and a budget band. If a field is missing you will be asked to resend.

How much does a build engagement cost?

Build projects start at $17,000 USD, scoped per project. Private mentoring is $350 or $710 per month; a staged Build Retainer runs $3,500 to $8,000 per month, application only.

What gets a yes?

You are the decision-maker, you have tried to scope the problem yourself, you are between $500k and $10M revenue, and you want the thinking and the building held by the same person.

What ends the conversation?

Replacing a vendor who has not been told first, equity-only arrangements without a paid scope, 'pick your brain' calls before a written brief, and engagements where you are not the decision-maker.

Is there a reserved, senior engagement?

The Only One Day Review is a dawn-to-night on-site immersion that ends in one 90-day directive. From $8,900 USD, by application.
